Are the Aggies Over-Valued?

I am invested in the Aggie basketball team. Not only monetarily but emotionally and socially, and as a fan that counts for a lot. If you disagree, read this article by Kyle Whelliston and let me know if you change your stance.
Investing time, money, reputation and love into something like a sports team may not be the [...]

Gavin Jones verbals to USU

Snow College Sophomore, Gavin Jones, is excited to join the Aggies under Andersen’s regime. One of his first tasks, changing into a much more becoming blue and white jersey. After that he’ll fit right in. Jones was quoted in the Herald Journal as saying:
“Their defensive scheme is a lot like I’ve always played in and that’s a [...]

James Walker coming to Utah State

MVP of his high school basketball league as a junior and getting ready to follow it up with a stellar senior season, James Walker decided he’d like to do that as a future Utah State Aggie.
His statistics aren’t mind numbing, and he’s not a high flyer, but the high school senior has had interest from more schools [...]

Player Spotlight: USU Punter Peter Caldwell

I mentioned briefly in my USU vs BYU review that Peter Caldwell had played a good game and that our special teams played well. I’ve had the chance to look at the stats and realized that I didn’t do him justice. Here is his stat line for the season to date:
Peter Caldwell, K USU,  Punts:23  Yards: 1025  [...]

Aggies go to Las Cruces to face … the Aggies

I took a quote from the NMSU Official website that, for me, puts this game into perspective:
The Utah State Aggies hold a 27-6 advantage over the New Mexico State Aggies, but NMSU holds an important victory over Utah State in 1960, beating USU in the Sun Bowl, 20-13. Since that win, NMSU has won just five [...]

Aggie Basketball Just Around the Corner

Normally, five weeks into the football season the sports enthusiasts of Logan, Utah are begining to look forward to the basketball season. I am usually one of the first to change my focus to basketball partly because the team always wins and partly because I am more knowledgable of basketball than football. This season is [...]

Aggies Heading into WAC Play

With the out of conference (OOC) games out of the way, a brutal schedule that left the Aggies with an unimpressive and slightly deceiving 1-3, Utah State football coach, Gary Andersen, now faces a tough Western Athletic Conference (WAC) schedule. There have been clear indications that the WAC’s bottom teams have improved, and #5 Boise State shows that the top is still strong. Throw out Boise State and there seems to be a lot of parity in the WAC this year. The question being, where does USU fit into all of this?
